Another chapter begins...

I like to think of my life as a book that's being written each and every day. Each event is a chapter that is being written over a period of time. Some chapters are short, others long. Some are filled with happiness, others sorrow. It's only at the end do I really know what's in store for me. Happiness, sorrow, envy, anger, love... all those emotions that make me who I am.

Also, making an entry and exit are the people. Shakespeare got it right when he wrote: "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts..." Some stay on for a while. Some make a quick exit after a chapter or two. Others linger on for a while in the background until they once again come into your life.

But what is it about some people that makes it so hard to let go? Especially the ones who make an impact like never before and change your world upside down. They fill your life with a happiness you cant explain. Thinking of them brings a smile to your face. And when you're alone on a not so rainy weekend at home nursing a neck injury, all you want is for them to be there and envelope you in a warm hug and not let go... leaving was easy, letting go so difficult.

My book of life is being written even as I type this; sleepless in a city that I'm still reluctant to call home. Then again, that's my problem. As each chapter ends, a new one begins. Begin it must! It's only when I reach the end will I know if there's a happily ever after... and for all those of you who've played your parts, big or small, what can I say? Thank you. You mattered. You still do.

I've come to realise that no matter who we are and where we come from, each one of us has a story to tell. I'll tell my story someday. It'll be a tell all. And a bestseller. That I promise.

PS: And you, you know who you are, what more can I say? Thank you. Bas, that's all...
